In a schizophrenic act looking for food, <em>yes indeed<\/em>, the puma ate a couple of the cows we fatten.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From an ecological point of view (the one which clearly <em>Engineer<\/em> Oscos forgot, although <strong>Engineering is supposed to give answers which solve problems with one\u2019s wit<\/strong> and not with IGNORANCE), the puma, like one of my professors would say, is \u201cTop\u201d of the food chain, he is above everyone, eating the middle ones who eat the tiny ones, regulating the food chain from above. They are known as an <strong>umbrella species<\/strong>, because protecting these species, means you are protecting indirectly many others which conform the community of the habitat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ploff.net\/beta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/BA-62-Vaca-Vegetal.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1245\" title=\"BA 62 - Vaca Vegetal\" src=\"https:\/\/ploff.net\/beta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/BA-62-Vaca-Vegetal.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ploff.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/BA-62-Vaca-Vegetal.jpg 800w, https:\/\/ploff.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/BA-62-Vaca-Vegetal-300x187.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ploff.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/BA-62-Vaca-Vegetal-624x390.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What strikes me is that WE imposed our own food chain by expanding our agricultural frontiers. The fact of raising cattle only means that we are putting an intermediary between us and grass <em>(one of vegan\u2019s baseline assumptions)<\/em>. Hence, why does the head of a puma have a price of 125 dollars? <em>125 dollars?<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his well-known letter, Chief Seattle said:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u201cThis we know: the earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it.
