Or a call for social revolution?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Good week to all of you,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his book <strong>\u201cGuerras Clim\u00e1ticas\u201d <\/strong>(<em>Climate Wars <\/em>\u2013 quoted several times in these newspapers), Harald Welzer makes some cold, raw and tremendously realistic considerations on the strategy of KEEPING-ACTING-THIS-WAY (like he defines it) regarding global issues. In other words, the possibility of not doing anything respecting the destruction of our planet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At this point, <em>we<\/em> already know the key points of our failures:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Our extractive economy,<\/li>\n<li>Our consumer life philosophy,<\/li>\n<li>Our theatrical politics,<\/li>\n<li>Our rusty educational system,<\/li>\n<li>Our fossil fuel exploitation,<\/li>\n<li>Our Precambrian laws\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All of these processes occur at the expense of other dehumanizing processes which the common citizen is not aware of <em>or forgets.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u201cThey are not processes which occur in the scenery of social life, but behind the scenes of the networks that underlay them and, in that sense, such negative measures lack the potential to shock the citizens and do not raise problems in the field of political action\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ploff.net\/beta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/BA-78-capitalismo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1366\" title=\"BA 78 - capitalismo\" src=\"https:\/\/ploff.net\/beta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/BA-78-capitalismo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"402\" height=\"455\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ploff.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/BA-78-capitalismo.jpg 503w, https:\/\/ploff.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/BA-78-capitalismo-265x300.jpg 265w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 402px) 100vw, 402px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The common citizen does not know, does not listen, <em>does not see<\/em>\u2026 the common citizen is not informed; the truth about the cost of his subsidized life is hidden from him. It is hidden, because the consequences of a global mass of indignant people manifesting themselves against the system could stop the inertia of the chaos in which we are immersed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u201cBut everything may go over well for a couple of decades, and for those who now are part of the middle-aged \u2013 and who ultimately constitute the hard core of the elite of politicians-keep-acting-this-way, within all, can be considered the most rational strategy when it comes to taking action.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Which would be a sad, coward and pathetic excuse by our current decision makers, who unscrupulously think: <em>I won\u2019t do anything\u2026 because the system will collapse in a couple of years, but I will no longer hold the power when that day comes and, hence, I cannot be blamed, because everybody has short term thinking, and do not see what is going on from the outside, and do not perceive that my actions are digging everybody\u2019s grave.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ploff.net\/beta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/BA-78-poder.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1367\" title=\"BA 78 - poder\" src=\"https:\/\/ploff.net\/beta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/BA-78-poder.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"348\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ploff.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/BA-78-poder.jpg 400w, https:\/\/ploff.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/BA-78-poder-300x261.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And those who govern us have another thing in favor: political representation, the public office and the political party, do not have a <em>feeling<\/em> of the individual. And they do not <em>feel<\/em> what is going on. \u00a0If reality was to be brought to the consciousness of the individual, we would feel that things are not OK at all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The strategy of KEEPING-ACTING-THIS-WAY <em>\u201calso looks smart because it does not raise moral problems: the one who negotiates with the national state is not a single actor, but representational, and in the context of negotiations between countries, individual categories of behavior such as selfishness, lack of consideration or indolence are irrelevant. Any country can act like a pig without changing at all its negotiation power within the international network.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u201cBut if you imagine the strategy of keeping-acting-this-way being transferred to the sphere of the individual, the image presented immediately to the eye is that of a person with sociopathic traits who has no kind of problem in winning 70 times more than the rest of the people and consumes its raw materials in \u00a0large quantities, and, therefore, consumes 15 times more energy, water and food, and that, compared to other more disadvantaged people, returns to the environment 9 times more contaminants. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ploff.net\/beta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/BA-78-SOCIOPATA.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1369\" title=\"BA 78 - SOCIOPATA\" src=\"https:\/\/ploff.net\/beta\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/BA-78-SOCIOPATA.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ploff.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/BA-78-SOCIOPATA.jpeg 350w, https:\/\/ploff.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/BA-78-SOCIOPATA-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/ploff.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/BA-78-SOCIOPATA-300x300.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>In addition, this sociopathic person shows a categorical lack of interest towards his children and grandchildren\u2019s life conditions and agrees that, because of him and other people of his same condition, 852 million people worldwide suffer from hunger and over 200 million are forced to flee from their native lands.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">How would we all react \u2013<em>individually and then collectively<\/em>&#8211; when we get to know the truth? And I am referring to those who CAN and MUST do something about it.
