Inert occupations exist, which are inherent to the monetary system in which we live. Jobs that do not contribute, in the long run, to the sustainable-ecological development of society.<\/p>\n
I\u00a0wanted to write about this for quite some time now, but I did not know how to write it all down, but a friend of mine called me drained from his job and tired of his routine, and motivated me to start typing.<\/p>\n
\u201cI realized that years go by and I am in the same office, with cubicles and a hundred other numbed people, working the entire day with no spiritual gain for me, but only filling with cash the owner\u2019s wallet, who I do not even know\u2026\u201d<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 said my friend.<\/p>\n There are many jobs that do not benefit society\u00a0as a whole…<\/em><\/p>\n People who sell insurance \u2013taking money by speculating with insecurity, to protect stuff bought with more money-;<\/em>\u00a0stock brokers,\u00a0yelling night and day\u00a0defending the cash of a few depending on how they the consumer world will ac<\/em>t;\u00a0the \u201clow stress\u201d\u00a0call centers<\/em>, where employees are obliged to call people who do not want to receive their calls, to try and tempt them with more and more overheads; the thousands of companies dedicated to publicity, this is people trained with one specific goal:\u00a0distort the true value of a merchandise<\/em>, in order for you to think you are not man enough if you don\u2019t buy it, or for you to think you are not such a pretty woman, as long as you do not use this product\u2026<\/p>\n It is a pity that, relating to work, the human potential had gone off course through several ways of taking money from each other\u2026 nothing more than that\u2026<\/p>\n I must clarify; it is not my intention to despise how each one of us earns a living. Some may say that these jobs contribute to the correct function of our daily lives inside the system, but that is exactly what I want to point out: these are occupations that\u00a0promote<\/strong>\u00a0the use of money, hence increasing the levels of social competition and differentiation.<\/p>\n Dynamic global equilibrium under human management:<\/strong><\/p>\n Last week we concluded that the environmental problems were a result of a poor human management. The\u00a0dynamic equilibrium,<\/strong>\u00a0as defined by Peter Joseph in his\u00a0Zeitgeist Movement Activist Orientation Guide<\/em>, happens when two opposing processes occur at the same time (like the trophic chains in every ecosystem). Dynamic equilibrium allows survival possibilities to exist for each species,\u00a0according to how they manage the distribution of available resources for their survival.<\/strong><\/p>\n The\u00a0Carrying Capacity of the Planet is defined,<\/strong>\u00a0then, by the maximum amount of living being who can coexist and endure through the passage of time, using the available resources sustainably.<\/p>\n The problem is that\u00a0nowadays the carrying capacity of the planet is directly affected by the monetary system,\u00a0which allows private corporations to own the resources<\/em>. By being owners, they choose a value price, and then sell whatever they want to sell\u2026<\/p>\n Here comes the tough part:\u00a0the company seeks to perpetuate scarcity<\/em>\u2026 because if there is scarcity of resources, their products will be more expensive\u2026\u00a0If the people don\u2019t have,\u00a0but want to have<\/em>, then companies increase profit.<\/strong><\/p>\n It would be great if, before entering a new job, we think were our invested time ends up.<\/p>\n The poor, wrong, bad human management of the dynamic equilibrium of the planet is so because the monetary system is the owner of our time, either by forcing us to sell our work force, or by psychologically tempt us to work all day long in order to get to an unreal social status.<\/p>\n The thing is that to radically change our ways of living is very difficult, because it implies to leave behind the self-imposed bonds about our image and\u00a0what will others say<\/em>.
