Great week to my faithful readers!

Remember Demi Solar? (the Philippine  guy who reused plastic bottles filled with water to make sustainable light bulbs for low resources homes). It makes me very happy to tell you that the same idea is being implemented in Argentina, in small communities in Santiago del Estero, Salta, Misiones and Buenos Aires’ Delta. The project is called “Day of light”, and here you can get informed on how to help it.

What fills me, is to see that 1) a sustainable solution emerges given a certain problem, 2) the idea translates in images, sound, text, and remains printed in the internet, kept as knowledge for he who wants to seek for it and 3) the idea is copied, modifying any needed parameter according  to where and when. And luckily, the cycle repeats itself…

The Fabricicleta (as for “Fábrica” and “Bicicleta” in Spanish [Fabric and Bike]) also is an excellent idea, with extreme potential to be exploited and usable in any city in the world. It is an open to all public bike workshop, where you can go and fix your bike (while learning how to do it yourself the next time) as well as participate in several courses and conferences. Excellent idea:

We do not have to overlook good opportunities, proactive and positive ideas.

Here is a web site that a friend of mine, Federico –Systems Engineer Student-, showed me. The website, True Activist, is interesting because it has current articles on global problems. It also has an interesting Documentary section, divided in: Activism, Money & Economy, Religion, Science, Society; which are worth looking when we have nothing to do.

Now le tus keep on with our lives! But always aware to change.
