A dictionary for the New World Order.

I was thinking: the year has started and there has not been an apocalypse, but it seems the world kept its course. The system is still at work. The extraction of natural resources maintains its levels of ambition, with only corruption as alibi.

America’s discovery did not imply a cultural symbiosis between the sustainable management of the ecosystem put forward by de native and the rationalization of reality of the white man, but only numbers, exported –extirpated- quantities, taken from the earth for more than half a millennium.

On the bus going to work, a let a small laughter out of me while reading some Eduardo Galeano’s lines. In 1991, he wrote “A dictionary for the New World Order”, where you can read definitions for diverse concepts with the sarcastic view of this exceptional writer.

Every time I read something like this, the first thing I think is that I want everyone to read it.  So I share with you the ones that made me laugh, laugh at the subtle depth of his definitions; laugh in order not to cry…

“Consumption, Society of. Prodigious container full of nothing. Invention of high scientific value, which can remove the real needs through the timely imposition of artificial needs. However, the consumer society generates some resistance in the most backward regions. (Declaration of Don Pampero Conde, Native from Cardona, Uruguay)

Creation. Increasingly rare crime.

Universal Culture. Television.

Development. In the mountains of Guatemala: “you do not need to kill everyone. Since 1982, we gave development to 70% of the population, while we killed the other 30%. “(General Hector Alejandro Gramajo, Former Minister of Defense of Guatemala, recently graduated from the International Relations course at Harvard University. External debt. Commitment which each Latin American contracts when they are born for the modest sum of $ 2,000 to fund the club with which he will be beaten.

War. Punishment applied to the South when they try to raise the prices of their export products.

History. On October 12, 1992, the New World Order will be 500 years old.

Impunity. Reward given to terrorism, when taken forward by the State.

Market. Where the price is fixed for people and other goods.

World map. A sea of two banks. To the north, very few with a lot. In the South, many with little. The East, who has managed stop being East, wants to be North, but at the entrance of Paradise a sign says: Full.

Nature. Archaeologists have located some remnants.

Power. Relationship of the North with the South. It is also said that it is the activity of some people in the South, who want to live, spend and think like those from the North.

Wealth. According to the rich, it does not produce happiness. According to the poor, it produces something quite similar. But statistics show that the rich are rich because they are few, and the military and police are in charge of clarifying any confusion about it.

Poison. Substance that currently prevails in the air, water, earth and soul.
