Dear friends and readers of the net.
We start up the week with a quick pic selection which tells our story on Earth in 2 minutes.
You can see all the beauty of life’s evolution ending in an uncontrollable outbreak of violence. Violence, and its consequent state of constant terror generated in society, seem to reign the world. And terror is control, because a scared society remains calmed down and accepts domination for the sake of feeling safe.
“When violence turns daily, the dissonance between the expectations and reality fades away, which means: you do not find anything weird on it anymore.”
“Nowadays, wars are businesses which include big chains of actions and several actors. Violence is delegated, it transforms itself, it turns invisible.” – Harald Welzer. Guerras Climáticas. (Climate Wars) Ed. Katz. España. 2010. Págs. 259 & 13.
Two strong phrases that make me understand the social numbness towards reality in which we live today. Hence, we have depressed soldiers who do not know what they are fighting for, and terrified citizens who do not know who they fear. Nevertheless, there is another strategy, the no violence strategy, created by Mahatma Gandhi, who wisely said that there exist many causes for which I am ready to die for, but none of them for which I am ready to kill.
On October the 2nd we celebrate worldwide the Non-Violence Day in commemoration of Gandhi’s birth. I thought it would be nice to celebrate it with another video filmed by a father sending a message of peace, of non-violence, of love…
Huge Hug,
Brian Longstaff.-
